How To Pack Smarter For Your Trip?

With holidays and trips approaching, there is always that one question in our heads – how to pack? It is not easy to pack smarter and therefor give you an answer to this question for a number of reasons: you are wondering what to bring and what not, thinking how to pack it all in your suitcase, and above all you have the unpleasant feeling that you have forgotten something.

When planning a trip, we usually imagine ourselves in our most fashionable outfits, with many accessories, as we pose in front of famous landmarks. However, when it comes to packing a suitcase, the problem arises because it is often impossible to pack every single piece of clothing, bag or perfume we have counted on.

In this post, I’m going to give you some tips on how to pack easily and in an organized way, whether it’s a weekend getaway or a longer vacation.

Pack Yourself Upfront

If you are packing at a minute to twelve, it is very likely that you will make a random selection without any order of priority or you will just forget to pack the most important stuff.

Make Two Lists

of stuff that you would like to pack. The first list should be called “MUST HAVE” and the other one “NICE TO HAVE.” Or just when throwing everything on the bed, make 2 piles of things you want to pack. After you pack all “must have” items, then you can easily put more things from the list “nice to have” into your suitcase.

Bring Around Twice As Little Clothing

The universal rule, whether you are staying for a year or going on a weekend trip, is to bring around twice as little clothing as you think you will need. The wardrobe takes up the most space, and it often happens that we carry a bunch of things that we don’t normally wear, but here we have the feeling that we will need it on this trip. And we don’t.

Color-Code Your Wardrobe

It would save you so much time how to style your everyday pieces. Pro tip: while packing, try out all your daily outfits that you plan on wearing on your trip. Take a mirror selfie and enjoy your vacation days because every morning you will have a planned outfit.

Smaller Containers

All products, starting with facial cleansing, shower cream and hair products – transfer to smaller containers. If you are staying at a hotel, you can usually take their shampoo bottles or shower gel and use them later on your next trip.

Fabrics

Look to bring along things that don’t get crowded a lot and that combine well. Do not overload your luggage, things can always be hand washed, and most accommodations also offer a washing option.

Roll The Clothes

As for the packing itself, roll the clothes so that space is better utilized, and the crowded ones should be put on top. If you will be able to iron things, pack them in a vacuum bag, you will save significant space. Instead of stacking socks in your suitcase, slip them into your shoes to save space. And put jewelry and accessories in the bag you are packing in your suitcase.

Also pack two or three dryer sheets into the suitcase, which is normally put in the dryer. A softener has been added to these sheets so your clothes will be fragrant and clean.

Medicine Containers

Pack the jewelry in medicine containers. These bowls are long and divided into several compartments and each has its own lid. These pots are inexpensive and you can use them multiple times.

Don’t pack shoes for every occasion – take a maximum of 2 dual-purpose pairs and pack smarter.
